Saadia Bihmidine
2009 Meritorious Graduate Student Award
The School of Natural Resources has created an award to recognize the best PhD and MS students pursing a degree in National Resources. Their aim is to honor their best students and recognize their academic achievements, research, teaching contributions, leadership accomplishments, service and person qualifications.
Saadia Bihmidine is a PhD student working in Dr. Tom Clemente’s lab. Her advisor is Dr. Tala Awada in the School of Natural Resources. Saadia is involved in several interdisciplinary research projects with researchers and experts from different fields (including Dr. Julie Stone, Dr. James Specht, Dr. Donald Weeks, Dr. Jim Van Etten, and Dr. David Dunigan). She is interested in understanding how plants respond to abiotic stresses (mainly drought) at both the physiological and molecular levels.
