How to Apply to the Plant Systems Biology Program

For additional information about the program and application instructions, see Biological Sciences.
  • Read the UNL Steps for Admission and Apply. In the graduate application, you must select in the drop down box:
    • Major/Degree = Biological Sciences PhD
    • Specialization = Plant Systems Biology
Applicants Should Submit:
  • A completed UNL Graduate Studies application and $50 application fee.
  • Official transcripts from each undergraduate and graduate institution attended.
  • Submit three letters of reference.
  • Curriculum vita.
  • Official GRE Scores.
  • Personal statement describing long-term professional goals. It should be up to 3 pages and include a statement of future plans, reasons for entering graduate school, and a discussion of the type of graduate research program you envision in order to realize the goals you have outlined.
International Students Only:
  • TOEFL score of at least 565 (paper-based), iBT 85, or 225 (computer-based).
Deadlines

The deadline for Fall 2015 admission is December 15, 2014. Admission to the graduate program will be made only when all the departmental requirements are met and are on file. The Office of Graduate Studies will send official notice of the admission deadlines.
